What is ISO 22000?

ISO 22000:2005 - Food Safety Management System issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on September, 2005. ISO 22000 specifies requirements for food safety and hygiene in the chain of food supply from suppliers-manufacturers-distributors to consumers. These requirements include:
1. Communication in the chain of food supply
2. Management system
3. Pre-requisite Programs (PRPs).
4. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).

What is HACCP –Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point?

Preventive system aims to provide food safety assurance through analysis of existing micro-biological, chemical and physical hazard in the processes of production from material receiving, preparing, processing, distributing and consuming of finished products.
- National standards of HACCP System: DS 3027:1997 ( Denmark) , RvA:1998 (Netherland), TCVN 5603:1998 ( Vietnam), BRC (UK), HACCP Code:2003 ( Australia)
- Applying HACCP is a compulsory requirement for food suppliers in the developed countries.
